COVID-19 and its impact on municipal waste systems
The COLLECTORS project adapted to the current situation marked by the COVID-19 pandemic by including in its activities an initiative to assess the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on municipal waste management systems.
COLLECTORS’ mainstay being to share knowledge between territories, the project will use its strength and expand the exchange of experience to try to bring answers to the challenges brought by the pandemic.
The aim of this initiative is to better understand the crisis, identify effective solutions and increase the resilience of municipal solid waste collection systems. Project partner ACR+ will identify interesting practices and analyse the key factors to increase the capacity of waste management systems to respond to health crisis while keeping prevention and recycling high on the agenda.
For this, municipal and local authorities or their waste operators are invited to fill out a survey on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their municipal waste management system.
