Additional comments: In the Netherlands, municipalities are responsible for the collection of household waste. Companies with similar waste can ask the municipality to collect their waste.
Responsibility of collection: The municipality of Utrecht is responsible for the collection of household waste as well as for the Civic Amenity Sites. The processing of household waste is arranged in the Common Waste Disposal Scheme Utrecht (GR AVU). All 26 municipalities in the Province of Utrecht are part of this scheme, in which contracts are managed for the storage, transport and processing of household residual waste, bulky household residual waste and organic waste. In addition, it has contracts for the processing of glass and for the collection and processing of paper. The collection methods differ per neigborhood in Utrecht - there is door-to-door collection (residual waste, organic waste and PMD), bring points (residual waste, glass, paper, textile, organic waste, PMD) and CAS.
